Wave Spot Viewer

This page allows you to analyse a RASP Wave Map forecast for the day indicated for each spot forecast.

If there is a RASP forecast for today with upper air rising at more than a fixed rate (e.g. a few hundred feet per minute), the Google Map shown for the UK will show those points as a marker on the map.

Each marker can be 'clicked' to see what the RASP forecast predicts and when. To save the map looking messy, the areas that have many markers are clustered together. The more markers there are, the higher the number (and the colour also changes).

Wave can be caaued by wind from any direction but often wave for the UK occurs when the upper air wind speed is more than 30 knots and coming from a direction of north round to west or south-west.
